RALF GUM

Ralf GUM is one of the most popular German house artists and one of the few who also enjoys real international popularity. He receives great attention globally, not only because of his productions for countless top-labels of the house scene, but especially with his own label GOGO Music, which he founded in 2001, Ralf GUM's career in the music biz started in 1990 as a DJ. Since 1993 he is producing. Always staying true to what he really feels his sound nowadays is a well-known trademark.
Harmony & Soul & Groove are just some key words for Ralf´s typical music. The broken beat productions of the SUGAR BEAT project are for him a welcome variety to his usual 4to the floor house sound. At SUGAR BEAT he's responsible for the basic instrumentation and adds his love for a slick production.
To date Ralf deejays at three spots regular. Since 1998 the "Airport" (Wuerzburg /Germany) is the living-room for his interpretation of house, where he captures the crowd with his sessions every Friday night. End of 2006 Ralf started his residency at Climax in Stuttgart and 2007 he was asked to play at APT, Frankfurt's new in location regularly. Besides that he's travelling for gigs steadily worldwide.

STEFFEN MEDER

Steffen Meder started to play drums with the age of 10. In the nineties Steffen played countless international gigs and tours with several bands. He grew up in the live-jazz, funk- and world-music-scene and played with top musicians from Germany, Brasilia, America, Africa and Poland.
Later his taste and interest turned more towards club-music, as Steffen recognized the vast potential, offered by the combination of live drums with electronics and programming. Developing new ideas through the use of new technologies fascinates him.
Steffen studied all kinds of different musical forms extensively without ever loosing his instinctive style of drumming. His influences reach from drummers like Manue Katchè (Sting, Peter Gabriel), Jeff Porcaro (Toto) and acts like Miles Davis, Chick Corea to ' electronic-music-artists' like Jazzanova or NuYorican Soul.
Provided with an inexhaustible background, Steffen developed his incomparable style to play drums. Logically he's the one to create the drums section for the SUGAR BEAT productions.
Next to the SUGAR BEAT sessions he is also playing with the real interesting modern funky band of Eugen De Ryck at the moment.
